iPhone 12 pro users, how has your stainless steel frame held up overtime?

I'k getting 13 pro and this will be my first stainless steel frame device. My iPhone eleven is yet without a single scratch (2 years using)

I'm 1 of those few people who can't imagine new telephone having scratches too fast. The shiny frame gets lots of micro scratches? I'm hoping to utilise 3rd party instance (supcase UB edge) that doesn't take Apple tree'south soft velvet blazon cushion, so volition that be an issue for the frame?

Thank you lot

I take a 12 Pro Max, employ information technology without a case and the scratches are only noticeable from a specific point of view with a vivid light. I doubt anyone will e'er discover the scratches during normal operations. If yous plan on using a example, you will non get any scratches at all.

level ii

That depends on what kind of case you plan on using. If you lot are using a velvet/cloth-lined case, information technology would be better. Merely if you utilize a inexpensive plastic, or the clear plastic example from Apple, that will trap dirt and rub it on the inside of the case against your phone.

My girlfriend has a 12 pro in gold and a inexpensive case left a few micro scratches on hers. Nosotros switched to Casetify cases and oasis't had whatsoever since. I take used apple silicone or Casetify clear MagSafe on my graphite 12 PM and I take maybe one tiny micro spot. It happens only very rarely with a decent example. Casetify is like a condom inside on the edges.

level two

I use my 12 pro without a case. If there were scratches, I could not tell … just could be besides because I had the graphite color.

level 2

That's a lie I take a case and I have scratches on my phone which is insane I've literally babies the phone and there's at least five micro scratches by the speakers and charger port and I have a example on since day 1

level 1

Before I traded in my launch 24-hour interval 12 pro max silverish, information technology was fine. Smudgy merely nothing permanent.

level ii

Wow! Did you use any instance?

level i

I only handed my pacific blueish 12 Pro Max dorsum to Apple concluding Friday for my new 13 Pro Max, and they were amazed at the status considering I never used a case. My stainless ring held upwards very very well. :)

level 2

Aforementioned! My pacific bluish 12 Pro doesn't have a noticeable scratch and I haven't ever put a case on information technology.

level ii

Aforementioned. I'm amazed at how well mine has held up with no case or screen protector. I use this bad male child daily at the gym where I often set information technology on the ground. Information technology's a high quality device built to withstand daily use.

level 2

I'g stuck on this determination! Do you find it a worthy upgrade? The high trade in values are tempting me..

level 1

Only sand information technology as soon as you get it. Problem solved & you take a brushed stainless frame now

level ane

I'm in the same boat as OP.

Has anyone used the frame naked, and had no scratches? Wishful thinking I assume

level 2

Information technology depends on colour. Silver is uncoated and scratches readily. The other colors tend to resist all real-world scratches, with Graphite having the technologically superior coating (DLC) versus the remaining two. Those three all agree upwards well enough to utilise without a case though.
